Wesley Methodist Church has a proven track record of community involvement; this has included enabling a wide range of voluntary and community groups to use its premises for their work. The church is fortunate in that it is centrally located in the town of West Bromwich, in the Sandwell Borough, the third most deprived borough in England and Wales; the West Bromwich area suffers a large degree of social deprivation. The area used for Community work is at the rear of the premises and is a complex built in the 1930’s and 1970's on the foundation of an older Victorian church; this area comprises 4 halls of varying sizes, toilets and a kitchen.

291 Community Association has completed a major upgrade and improved the areas which are used for community work (see the Redevelopment Tab above left).

291 Community Association is now a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO); the objectives of the CIO are to provide facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupation in the interests of social welfare for the public at large including, but not exclusively, residents of the borough of Sandwell, principally in the area of West Bromwich.

Rooms, of various sizes, are available to hire now at a competitve rate.
